1. August Stuck?! Sketch

Now it is the 1. of August, and a great new Stuck?! Sketch is ready, so I've used it for this layout.

The pictures are from Vorupør at the Northern westcoast of Denmark. Many years ago the inhabitants made their income by inshore fishing, and there are still a few who have inshore fishing as their hobby. The small fishing boats are pulled to the beach by a tractor, and it has become a great turist attraction to follow the fishermens work on the beach.

The doily trend has inspired me to make this doily-like embellishment. It's a great way og using some leftovers ;-D

Materials:
Papers: Splash Dance from Imaginisce
Letters: Thickers from American Crafts and Mini Alphabet from My Little Shoebox
Dew drops: The Robin's Nest
Cat Eye inkpad: Charcoal
Zig Writer: Black
Crispy ribbon and seagull from a local craftstore
Staples

Kirsten

Layout for The Studio Challenge

I've made this layout for a challenge over at The Studio Challenge. We had to use some old stash together with something new.

About a year ago I joined a workshop with Christiane Müller at a Danish Scrapbooking Convention i Middelfart. The pictures I brought at the Convention were a terrible match to the papers from Sassafrass ;-D, so I didn't finish the layout. Now used them for the monthly layout from April 2010.
The cardstock, ribbon, buttons, pearls and letters are new stash.

..... and another close-up

I think this is all for now ;-D

A very simpel layout

I think I've just made the most simple layout ever, at least until now.

I used the 15. August sketch from Stuck?! Sketches. To be honest I struggled a bit with it. I'm not so very keen on the simplicity. I think simple layouts are great when other scrappers make it, but my own layouts must be with more embellishments... strange - maybe?.... ;-D ;-D
Anyway I had very much fun making the layout, ohh... I love challenges :-D

Here you have a little close-up

Now I'll be off to Flensburg in Germany to pay my MIL a visit, tomorrow is her birthday, but we are celebrating today. So... see you tonight :-D

I'm far behind...

This year I have started making monthly layouts, but I'm far behind, so yesterday I made the one from March 2010. I used the Stuck?! sketch from 1. of July.

The papers are from an old kit from K&Company

The journaling in English: In the first week of March we had holiday, During a couple of hours we got 39 cm snow. 2 weeks later the spring was here, and the Snowdrops swarmed from the ground.
The absolute highlight of the month was the 10.th Scrapbooking Convention in DK. The girls on the picture (including me - it's me with the purple scarf - have participated all 10 times.
Our grandma could have celebrated her birthday 7. March
Cæsar was 10 years 11. March.

and a close up from one of the corners

Yesterday our holiday started - 2 weeks YEHAAA... ;-D - so I cleaned the house and took care of the laundry, so we don't have to think of that the next days.

Today the "Medicine man" (our son who is studying at the Pharmaceutical Faculty of Copenhagen) comes home for a few days, I'm looking SO much forward to seeing him :-D

We will see what the next days brings - this year we haven't made a lot of plans :-D

Thanks for stopping by :-D

Meet me.....

Today it is my turn to be presented as one of the new Creative Team members over at Stuck?! Sketches, so now I can show you the layouts that I submitted back i June.

The first one is a wedding loyout with my beloved parents. I used the sketch we got. I do not have my parent anymore, so this layout is very precious to me. The papers are from Glitz, Vintage line and from my monthly kit from the danish on-line shop Love2Scrap.

The second layout I submitted is "Land i sigte" with the two young sailors aboard a sailing ship looking for the shore. I took the picture last summer where a lot of old sailing ships visited a harbour near our summercottage.

The last one is from Tivoli in Copenhagen. On a terribly cold Christmas day we visited Tivoli, and my son and husband tried the rollercoaster "Dæmonen" . It is not the very best picture, but I think it maintains a speciel moment, and this is important to me when I am scrapping.

I wish you all a happy
and warm summer-weekend :-D

Some GREAT news :-D

Some days ago I got the GREAT news, that I am one of the new members of the Stuck?! Creative Team. I'm so excited and proud to be offered a position at the team. I'm looking very much forward to working with the fantastic scrappers Sara has chosen for the team.

I think I showed one of my application-layouts too early, so I decided to remove the photos from this post.

To you, dear Anesha; You already have seen the layout, and given it such a sweet comment, in a few day I'm going to replace it in a new post. I really appriciate it. Thank you so much.

Sorry for the mess ;-D

Hugs,
Kirsten
